Juancho Herrera releases “Gaviero” at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space in New York City. October 28, 2017
Gaviero, the fourth musical work by Juancho Herrera is a collection of songs inspired by the renown literary character, Mqroll El Gaviero by Álvaro Mutis. Accompanied by the photographic work of Miguelángel Yabrudes, this new release becomes a full audiovisual experience, which deepens the path of exploration both musical and personal of Herrera’s South American roots. Joined by his long time collaborators, Yayo Serka on drums, Ben Zwerin on bass, Josh Deutsch on trumpet and Herrera himself on guitar and vocals, Gaviero succeeds in bringing to the audience the colors and environments of the NYC vibrant and diverse world music scene.
Special appearances by Alejo García, Sofía Tosello, Samuel Torres, Sofía Rei and Keita Ogawa, round the musical personnel of this new work by Juancho Herrera
The CD and companion photo book release will be on Saturday October 28, 2017 at 8PM at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theater at Symphony Space as part of the LatiNew Festival (The Brasilatin Music Experience).
